Terms and disclaimer
Medical Money publishes calculators and explainers for Australian doctors. Nothing on this site is personal financial advice, tax advice, legal advice, or a tax agent service. Read this page before you rely on a number. Then still do not rely on it.
Who we are not
Medical Money is not an AFSL holder, is not authorised to provide financial product advice, is not a registered tax agent, is not a registered BAS agent, and is not a law practice. A qualification on a bio line (including any DFP) does not authorise advice and this site does not pretend it does. We are not a registered migration agent, and not a credit licensee. A card sort is not a suggestion to apply. A super-fund table is not a suggestion to join.
What a calculator is
You type numbers. The browser applies a simplified table we shipped with the page. There is no fact-find, no account, and no human reviewing your inputs. The output is an illustration on those inputs — a sketch. It is not your assessment, your refund, a balance owing, or a recommendation.
General tax material that does not apply the law to a particular reader’s circumstances is the example the Tax Practitioners Board treats as not a tax agent service. A disclaimer does not save a page that reads like an assessment. That is why we label omissions next to the numbers and never use assessment verbs.
Three regimes
Corporations Act / AFSL. Showing resident brackets on figures you typed is not a financial-product recommendation. We do not recommend a product or a strategy. ASIC’s generic-calculator relief is not a licence to give personal advice.
TASA / TPB. A tax agent service is ascertaining or advising on a tax liability in circumstances where you can reasonably be expected to rely on it to satisfy an obligation or claim an entitlement. Do not use this site for that. Use a registered tax agent.
Credit (NCCP Act). Medical Money is not a credit licensee and does not provide credit assistance.
Australian Consumer Law. Stale rates or a wrong HELP band would be misleading. Datasets are dated. Re-verify on 1 July (federal), 1 January (NSW/VIC land tax), and 1 April (FBT). Official pages win if we disagree.
What we never do
- Recommend a product, fund, insurer, card, lender, or packager.
- Tell you to go ABN, stay PAYG, incorporate, package, buy hospital cover, or sell a house.
- Tell you to migrate, which visa to use, or that a registration pathway is granted.
- Lodge a return, prefill myTax, or call a figure an assessment, refund, or balance owing.
- Run a live price, live unit-price, or live rates API on a visitor click.
- Scrape Canstar, Finder, AusCalcs, Bloomwealth, or a bank borrowing-power engine for tables.
- Gate a result behind email.
- Claim ATO-approved, accurate to the cent, or a replacement for an accountant or AFSL adviser.
Advertising
Partner slots are labelled “Advertisement” and sit outside the result. Advertising is not an endorsement.
No reliance
You are responsible for checking current ATO, Study Assist, state revenue, APRA, fund PDS and issuer documents before you act. Consider a licensed financial adviser (check the Financial Advisers Register) and a registered tax agent (TPB register). If any part of this site is wrong, the official source is right.
