Mortgage

Why this matters. A home loan repayment is the standard principal-and-interest formula on the rate and term you type. Extra payments change how fast the balance falls. The rate is an example you type. It is not the cash rate, and it is not a lender’s offer.

Standard P&I repayment. Move the rate. Add extra monthly. Drop a lump sum in a chosen year. The graph is remaining balance versus the original schedule.

What doctors often miss

The repayment is the standard principal-and-interest formula on the rate you type. Stamp duty, lender’s mortgage insurance and an offset are not inside that repayment.
